Today is the 8th of August 2003; itwill stay in my mind
forever. because we lost our beloved Micha.
Micha had been unwell for a couple of days and we had been
watching her closely.
She was an elderly dog and time was not on her
side!
Micha had started coughing, which was something we were
told to look out for because she had a heart murmur!
The coughing was getting
worse, if that was not enough she was prone to warts and she had developed one
on the side of her face - Micha kept scratching it and making it bleed.
Last night she had been coughing more than usual so Neil
and I had decided we would take her to the vets in the morning.
We woke up to find that she was really distressed; her
breathing was really rapid so we sat with her until we could take her to
the vets.
The vets opened at 9:am and we were there straight away.We waited
patiently until we could be seen. Our time came and in we went, the three of
us.
It was as I suspected her heart; it was worse than I thought and her gums were very pale.
It was decided that Micha should not have to suffer anymore and
she was to be put to sleep that morning.
The vet allowed us to have some time
with her before she took her away. I have met some vets over the years but the wonderful manner which she had made the parting a little easier
Once again as twice as in the past we had to leave with a lead
and just the two of us.
